Lucy Irene Kennedy, 82, of Hutchinson, died March 30, 2021, at Hospice House. She was born March 10, 1939, in Ellinwood, to Clifford J. and LaVerne L. (Lewis) Ellis.

Lucy graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1956. A Hutchinson resident since 1960, her working career included Northgate National Bank, Hutchinson National Bank, and Data Center Incorporated. She also was an Avon representative for many years and won the President's Club Award multiple times. Lucy was very kind and loving, and loyal to her friends. But above all was her love for her family, especially her grandchildren, expressed thru many acts of service and sacrifice.

Lucy was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church since 1960, serving on the Altar Guild and Adult Committee for many years.

She married Jim Kennedy on January 16, 1982, in Hutchinson. He died June 23, 2010.

Lucy is survived by: children, Gordon Brown (Kristi) of Hutchinson; Carrie Carlson (Doug), of Herington, Danny Brown, Jami Martin (Mark), Robert Kennedy (Patricia), all of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings, John Ellis (Willie) of Parsons, Janice Lohr and Becky Gilliland (Ed Chapman), all of Great Bend; and numerous extended family members.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; infant daughter; son, David Brown; grandson, James Kennedy; and siblings, Larry, Barbara, Elizabeth, Joanne, and David.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12 ^th Ave., Hutchinson, with Rev. Quentin Nuttmann and Rev. Henry Blickhahn officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
