NICKERSON – Luther E. "Bronc" Beshears, 62, died Aug. 17, 2014, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born March 26, 1952, in Larned, Kan., to Luther A. and Dorothy L. (Miller) Beshears.
He enlisted with the United States Army in 1970, where he was an expert rifleman, earning a National Defense Service Medal. Luther was a trackman for the Santa Fe Railroad for many years.
Survivors include: son, Mark Beshears and wife Machaela of Eudora; four grandchildren; brothers, Larry Beshears (Pam) of Sterling, Ralph Beshears (Kim) of Hutchinson, and Randy Beshears (Debbie) of Oklahoma; sisters, Gina Beal (Randy) of Burton, Georgine Webber of Stafford, Jayrena Lawrence (Mike) of Langdon, Janette Osage (Graham) of Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Dustin Beshears; and brothers, Mike and Mark Beshears.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson, with Pastor Matt Stafford presiding. Military honors will be conducted by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
