Lydia "Esther" Friesen, 104, died April 7, 2016. She was born Dec. 5, 1911, in Moundridge, to Cornelius and Sarah (Peters) Friesen.

She was a homemaker. On Oct. 15, 1933, she married Harvey Friesen in Dalhart, Texas. He died Jan. 3, 1995. Survivors include: daughters, Dorothy Davis, Darlene Ray, Delores Friesen, and Flo Hughes; sister, Fern Smith; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Donnie; infant son, Victor; daughter, Loreva Schartz; and sisters, Selma Royce and Rubina Regier.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Bob Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Buhler Municipal West Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel.
