Lydia M. Philbrick, 86, died April 27, 2016, at her daughter's home in Hutchinson. She was born Nov. 21, 1929, in Hutchinson, to William G. and Catherine L. (Howell) Boney.
Lydia graduated from Hutchinson High School as Co-Valedictorian in 1947, and from Hutchinson Community College in 1986. She worked as a secretary for Colladay Hardware for 20 years and as a claims service representative for the Social Security Office for 21 years.
Lydia was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, HCC Alumni Association, Horticulture Club, and S, A.L.T. Singles Group.
On Nov. 2, 1947, she married Robert L. "Bob" Philbrick Sr., in Hutchinson. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1999. Lydia is survived by: children, Robert L. Philbrick Jr. and wife Linda of Edmond, Okla., Debbie K. Jerauld and husband Sam of Hutchinson, John W. Philbrick and wife Pam of Pueblo, Colo., Kathie McCormally and fiance Mike Maxfield of Springfield, Va., and Dawn Hartung of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Jamie Winchester and wife Christi, Stacy Lewis and husband Tom, Lynette McNeil, Mark Philbrick, Robin Landers and husband Milt, Megan Pitts and husband Corey, Sean McCormally, Sara Gonzales and husband Gary, Jenny Philbrick, William "Chip" Jerauld and wife Alisha, Scott Morgan and wife Molly; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Mary Catherine Boney; and special friend, Billy Hartung.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Reverend Jim Rhaesa officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
