Lydia I. Streeter, 89, of Hutchinson, died June 16, 2011, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
She was born Nov. 26, 1921, in rural Ellinwood, Kan., to Fred Walter and Katie Rae Fuller Hewitt.
She was a graduate of Stafford, Kan., High School in 1940, and in 1943 from the St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse from 1943 to 1981, she worked for Drs. Fitzgerald, Boyd and retired with Dr. Fernie. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Reno County Genealogical Society and the D.A.R.
On Sept. 18, 1954, she married Raymond E. Streeter in Hutchinson. He died Jan. 31, 1961.
Survivors include: son, Raymond A. Streeter of Manhattan, Kan.; stepdaughter, Judith Ann Kendall and husband Larry of Wildwood, Mo.; three step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Wayne and Kenneth Hewitt, and sister, Velma Setser.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2011, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Reverend Jim Rhaesa officiating. A private family graveside service will follow at the Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation will take place.
