Lydia Yoder, 99, died March 17, 2016, at her home. She was born Aug. 24, 1916, in rural Hutchinson, the daughter of Noah and Rosa (Schrock) Nisly.
Lydia married Melvin M. Yoder on June 27, 1937, in Hutchinson. He died on Jan. 6, 2005. She was a homemaker and member of Center Amish Mennonite Church.
Lydia is survived by: children, Calvin Yoder of Kalona, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Lucy Yoder of Casper, Wyo., Rosa Yoder of Partridge, Menno Yoder (Tobie) of Merriam, Abe Yoder (Laura) of Paynesville, Minn., Anna Weaver (Clayton) of Bastrop, Texas, Wilma Beachy (Paul) of Bastrop, Texas, Judy King (Calvin) of Harrison, Ark., David Yoder (Susanna) of Partridge, Joseph Yoder (Twila) of Partridge; 39 grandchildren; 90 great-grandchildren; a great great-grandchild; siblings, Amanda Funk of Millersburg, Ind., Amos Nisly (Anne) of Hutchinson, Mose Nisly (Mary) of Shreve, Ohio, Becky Miller of Partridge, and Ella Nisly of Millersburg, Ind.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, William; daughter, Marian; two grandsons; three daughters-in-law; brothers, William and Joe; and sister, Anna Raber.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Center Amish Mennonite Church, 7611 W. Morgan Ave., with Gary Miller, Oren Yoder, and LaVerne Miller officiating. Burial will follow in West Center Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the church. Memorials may be made to the Pilgrim Christian School, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
