Obituary

NEWTON - Retired Army Sergeant First Class Lyle W. Zahorsky, 43, passed away Oct. 10, 2011, at his home in Newton. He was born June 25, 1968, in El Dorado.

Lyle joined the U.S. Army on Feb. 28, 1987, and retired March 3, 2007. During his time in the military he did two tours in Iraq. Those left to remember him are: sons, Dustin Zahorsky of Merriam, Kan., Catlin Zahorsky of Manhattan; parents, Skip Morgan, Becky Bidwell, Darrell and Maritta (deceased) Zahorsky, Kathy and Arlis (deceased) Crenshaw; siblings, Asta Hill, Amber (Jim) Howell, Eden (Shawn) Fuson, Michael Shields, Kevin Zahorsky, Sharon (Alan) Garant, Karen (Peter) Jung; 17 nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at The Father's House, 1505 E. 20th, with Pastor Annie Moore officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
