Obituary

M. Adrian "Whitey" Miller, 82, died Dec. 1, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson.

He was born June 25, 1923, in Kinsley, the son of William Rudolph and Ida Esther Eatinger Miller. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1943. A longtime Hutchinson resident, he was retired from Dillons as District Supervisor of Meat Market Management after 43 years in 1983.

He belonged to First Presbyterian Church and Loyal Order of Moose No. 982.

On Sept. 2, 1944, he married Barbara Smith.

Survivors include: two sons, Jon, Seattle, Wash., and Bill and his wife, Kathy, Dubuque, Iowa; a daughter, Sue Winegardner, Hutchinson; three sisters, Evelyn Openshaw and Norma Euker, both of Hutchinson, and Christine Zongker, Derby; a companion, Marilyn Kaufman, of the home; and a grandson, Nicholas Miller.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Miller.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Tim Soule presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice House or Dillon Nature Center, both in care of the funeral home.
