Obituary

Mae B. Schletzbaum, 97, passed away Aug. 29, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Village, Hutchinson.

A twin, she was born July 17, 1911, in Alfalfa County, Okla., to William and Ida Ritter Brinkmeier. She graduated from high school in Burlington, Okla.

A resident of South Hutchinson for 14 years, moving to Hutchinson in 1955, she was a homemaker and had a day care in her home for many years.

She belonged to Crestview Bible Church.

On Dec. 24, 1935, she married Earl Schletzbaum in Cherokee, Okla. He died Feb. 6, 1967.

Survivors include: their children and spouses, John and Ruth, Silverdale, Wash., Gladys Yoder, Hutchinson, Caroline and Ray Schmucker, Plevna, and son-in-law, Carl Farney, Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; a brother; a daughter, Janet Farney; a son-in-law, Harold Yoder; two grandchildren, Jim Yoder and Sharon Ford; and two nephews.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Robert L. Albin presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to service time Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in North Inman Cemetery.
