Obituary

Mahlon Wagler, 88, died Sept. 8, 2009 at his home. He was born July 3, 1921 in Partridge to Peter and Barbara Yoder Wagler. On August 14, 1949 he married Mary Yoder in Hutchinson. She died Jan. 14, 1997. On Oct. 17, 1998 he married Ida Schmucker in Hutchinson. She survives.

He was a member of the Cedar Crest Amish Mennonite Church and a retired farmer.

Other survivors include two sons, Elon René Wagler and wife Diana, Catoosa, Ok and Nelson Wagler and wife Lydia, Coopersburg, Pa; four daughters, Naomi Wagler, Hutchinson, Regina Plett and husband Ernie, Petersfield, Manitoba, Margaret Jack and husband Tim, Owasso, Ok, and Anita Wagler, Partridge; 11 grandchildren; and a sister, Orpha Miller, Arlington.

He was preceded in death by brothers Raymond and Willie and an infant brother, and sisters, Laura, Mary and Martha.

Funeral will be 1:30 pm Friday, Sept. 11, 2009 at Cedar Crest Amish Mennonite Church with Paul Miller, Lee Nisly and James Shetler officiating. Burial will follow at West Center Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 at the church. Memorials may be made to Missions Interest Committee or Mennonite Central Committee in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
