He was born Oct. 9, 1950, in Hutchinson, the son of Charles "Buddy" and Ila Mae Kelly Waller.

A lifetime Hutchinson resident, he had worked at Dillon's Bakery for many years, but recently had worked as an appliance salesman at the Sears Store in Hutchinson. He also worked as ticket-taker at The Kansas State Fair for many years, working at Gate #11 on North Poplar. He was a member of the Bakery and Confectionery Union and Industry International. He enjoyed fishing with his friends and riding his mo-ped.

He was a 1969 graduate of Hutchinson High School and attended Hutchinson Community College and DeVry University in Kansas City, Missouri.

He is survived by: son, Anthony Waller, Hutchinson; daughter, Andrea Waller, and her fiancé, John Milos, Hutchinson; two brothers, The Honorable Gregory Waller, Wichita, and Stanley Waller, Hutchinson; sister, Sandra Dawson, Hutchinson; his mother, South Hutchinson; grandson D'Anthony Vargas, Hutchinson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, and by a step-father, Donald Vaughn.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation will follow the service. Mr. Waller will be in state on Friday, 5 to 9 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. The family will greet friends Friday 7 to 8 p.m. also at Elliott Mortuary. A private family inurnment in Eastside Cemetery will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to the D'Anthony Vargas Educational Fund, sent in care of the funeral home.
