SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Marcelee Goodrick Webb Samms, 77, died Oct. 21, 2009, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She was born June 5, 1932, in Little River, the daughter of Harry L. and Lena Griebel Goodrick. She was a 1950 graduate of Little River High School.

A resident of South Hutchinson since 1954, she was a member of the South Hutchinson United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the YMCA and was a life member of the PTA. She was a homemaker.

On May 30, 1950, she married Francis B. Webb in Little River. He died May 30, 1993. She then married Gene Samms on Oct. 21, 2000, in South Hutchinson. He survives. Other survivors include: sons, Steve L. Webb and wife Sharon, Dr. Terry L. Webb and wife Teresa, all of Hutchinson; daughter, Kathy L. Webb, Republic, Mo.; brother, LeRoy Goodrick, Wichita; sister, Elizabeth Prose, Little River; seven grandchildren, Craig Webb and wife Lori, Dr. Erin Scott and husband Dr. Ben Scott, Stephanie Roehm and husband Brian, Dr. Kari Vance and husband Dr. Josh Vance, Sarah Hurst and Jesse Taylor, Tori Corpus and husband Fernando, Madyson Bennett and husband Joel; and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Byron and Howard Goodrick.

She will be laid to rest at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum Friday at 1 pm. The Celebration of Life service will be 2:30 pm Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at South Hutchinson United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Ault-Duell presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
