Marcella Louese Kite, 84, died March 28, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society, Lyons. She was born Feb. 2, 1930, in Hutchinson, to Purl Quincey and Lily Louese (Drybread) Ellison Kepner.

Marcella graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1947. On Dec. 3, 1949, she married James Thomas "Jim" Kite in Hutchinson. He died Nov. 22, 2013. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lyons. When she was younger, Marcella enjoyed dancing, then later in life she collected plates and napkins. Survivors include: daughter, Linda L. Kane and husband Dan of Clay Center; son, Ron Kite and wife Raelene of Hutchinson. Marcella was preceded in death by: her husband; father, Purl Quincey Ellison; mother, Lily Louese (Drybread) Ellison Kepner; and stepfather, Stuart Kepner.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church, 101 S. Pioneer Ave., Lyons, with Pastor Brenda Davids presiding. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
