Marcie Marie Woelk, 95, of Hutchinson, died April 12, 2022, at Hospice House of Hutchinson. She was born November 14, 1926, in Burrton, to Peter F. and Lizzie (Adrian) Friesen.

Marcie was a homemaker and also worked with her husband, Ron, in his painting business, Woelk Painting, after he retired from Sears. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, where she taught preschool and Sunday School. Marcie was also a member of Women of the Moose Hutchinson Chapter #1371. She also enjoyed gardening and being a Den Mother for her sons' Cub Scout troops.

On February 25, 1943, Marcie married Ronald V. "Ron" Woelk, in Cottonwood Falls. They shared nearly 70 years of marriage before his death on May 19, 2012.

She is survived by: her sons, Bob Woelk of Winfield, Darrell Woelk (Barbara) of Austin, TX, Keith Woelk (Brenda) of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Kathy Jaafar (Yassin), Matthew Woelk, Paul Woelk (Heather), Chad Woelk; great-grandchildren, Ali Jaafar, Anna Woelk, Gavin Woelk, Owen Woelk; and many extended family members.

Marcie was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter-in-law, Hisae Woelk; siblings, Eldo Friesen, Levi Friesen, Grace Wandsnider, Martha Witt, Edna Plett, Lillie Stuckey, Lavander Mae Heibert, and Lovana Lou Heibert.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2022, at First Mennonite Church, 52 Rambler Rd., Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Buhler Municipal Cemetery. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
