Marcketta Peak, 94, of Hutchinson, died Sunday, March 18, 2018, at her home in Hutchinson. She was born January 24, 1924, in Alexander, Kansas, to Arthur Ransford and Mary Elizabeth (Jackson) Tomlinson.
Marcketta graduated from Alexander High School in 1941. She retired from the Farmers CO-OP in Lyons. Marcketta loved to cook, and was famous for her cookies. She was a self-taught crochet queen, and enjoyed playing cards and games with her family. Marcketta's family was her top priority, and she never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. She was a member of Salem Community Church of the Brethren, Nickerson and the Lyons VFW Women's Auxiliary.
On March 2, 1971, she married George Peak in Lyons. He died January 29, 2001. Marcketta is survived by: son, Ray Mohr (Rita) of Topeka; daughters, Sandi Moore (Randy) of Nickerson, Eva Geiger of Kansas City, Missouri; granddaughter, Daiquiri Rosen (Brent) of Lenexa; grandsons, Dusty Moore (Jonna) of Hutchinson, Gordon Geiger of Littleton, Colorado, Brandon Geiger (Courtney) of Kansas City, Kansas; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Robert and Cecil Tomlinson.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor George Hinton officiating. Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. at Alexander Cemetery, Alexander, Kansas. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
