Marco Antonio Rios-Benitez, "Marc", 16, passed away April 19, 2015, in Hutchinson. He was born April 29, 1998, in Dodge City, to Leon Rios and Ericka Benitez. Marc was a junior at Hutchinson High School. He had a sweet personality with a caring heart for his family. Marc enjoyed listening to "oldies" with his grandmother, working on cars, and playing video games.

He is survived by: his parents, Leon Rios and Ericka Benitez of Hutchinson; sisters, Miranda Benitez, Ciera Rios, Destiny Rios of Hutchinson; grandmother, Dinah Sanchez of Topeka; step-grandfather, David Sanchez of Hutchinson; maternal grandfather, Jose Benitez of Tahlequah, Okla.; paternal grandmother, Shirlee Pineda of Great Bend; maternal great-grandparents, Sharon Pauls and Richard Pascarella of New Castle, Pa.; maternal great-grandfather, Duane Koeppen of WaKeeney; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Marc was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandpa, Harvey Pauls; aunts, Victoria and Amanda Rios; and paternal great-grandparents, Jose and Lidia Garza.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015, at CrossPoint Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Paul Thurston and Pastor Carlos Garza, Sr. presiding. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marco Rios-Benitez Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
