Margaret Austin's Obituary
Margaret Austin, 72, died Nov. 22, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born June 29, 1934, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Clifton C. and Alpha Edna Pennington Shackelford. In 1953, she graduated from Hutchinson High School. A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, she worked for Kresses Five and Dime and worked in food service at Winans Grade School and Montgomery Ward.
She was a member of the United States Bowling Congress and Friendship Bowling League of Hutchinson.
On Aug. 31, 1964, she married Charles E. Austin in Miami, Okla. He survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Cathy Weimer and Beth Queen, both of Hutchinson; two sisters, Rosemary Grandestaff, Inman, and her twin, Marjorie Zimmerman, Hutchinson; and a grandson, Sky M. Summers.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Wesley C., Walter E., Robert C. and Dale E. Shackelford.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Ivan Miller officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the chapel. Casket will be closed. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
