Margaret K. Barrett, 81, died July 23, 2020, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson.  She was born November 15, 1938, in Beloit, to Warren and Ava (Broadbent) Kelley.

Margaret graduated from Jewell High School and was a homemaker.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crafts, reading, and leatherwork.  Margaret's greatest joy was making scrapbooks for her family and spoiling her four grandchildren.

On April 9, 1966, she married James 'Jim' Barrett in Jewell.

Margaret is survived by:  husband of 54 years, Jim of Hutchinson; children: Daniel Barrett (Wendy), and Michelle Silas (Dan), all of Nickerson; brother, Floyd Kelley (Paula) of South Hutchinson; grandchildren, Stefani Barrett, Connor Barrett (Logan Gitchell), Caden Silas, and Gage Silas; and great-grandchildren, Piper and Skarlett Barrett.

She was preceded in death by:  her parents; one brother; one sister; and a grandson, Logan Barrett.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July  28, 2020, at Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson, with The Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Council of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS  67501.
