Margaret Frances (White) Grilliot, 77, passed away Dec. 13, 2016, at Prairie Sunset Home in Pretty Prairie. She was born in Hutchinson, on July 6, 1939, to Thomas and Amelia (Gerard) White.
Francie graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1957 and attended Hutchinson Community College, Emporia State Teacher's College, and eventually moved back to Hutchinson.
In 1961, she married Thomas Grilliot in Castleton and moved to Syracuse, where they started their married life. After six months, they moved to her childhood home in Castleton, began farming, and there they raised seven children.
Francie loved gardening and being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker, who loved taking care of her family. She was very active in her church and community.
She is survived by: husband, Tom Grilliot; children, Sam Grilliot (Christy), Denny Grilliot, Stan Grilliot (Janet), Chris Grilliot, Allan Grilliot, Jim Grilliot (Rachel), Lori Grilliot Green (Scott); 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Marylou (White) Hedrick, Pat (White) Perkins, and Elaine (White) Meier. Francie was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Thomas B. White, Laurence White; sisters, Teresa (White) Barb, and Dorothy (White) Roylance.
A parish rosary will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Ned Blick officiating. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Castleton. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent, in memory of Francie Grilliot, to the Alzheimer's Association Central and Western Kansas or Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
