Margaret Ellen Hale, 79, died February 26, 2022, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. She was born November 8, 1942, in Hutchinson, to Jay and Betty (Ellis) Reed.

Margaret graduated from Nickerson High School in 1960, attended Hutchinson Community College, and graduated from Sydney's Beauty College. She owned her own beauty shop, "Hair by Margaret", for many years. Margaret's greatest joys in life were her grandchildren and her pets.

In February 1967, Margaret married Palmer Welch in Oklahoma. They later divorced. On October 1, 1976, she married Roy Hale Jr., in Hutchinson. He died October 29, 2014.

Margaret is survived by: her children, Colleen Thode (Troy) of Partridge, Blake Welch (Lori Christensen), Brannon Welch (Tanya), Kelly Hale (Shannon), all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Josh Dreiling (Christen), Jake Dreiling (Candice), Alisha Dreiling, Amber Dreiling, Keegan Hale, Brookelyn Hale, Devon Welch, Alexia Welch, Trevor Thrash; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Jones (Charles) of Greenwood, MO; Jaylene Reed of Kingman; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shellie Hughes; and grandsons, Travis Dreiling and Travis Thrash.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd., Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
