Obituary

Margaret Frances "Marge" Legg, 93, passed away February 18, 2012, at Hester Care Center, Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. She was born October 15, 1918, in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Garland (Payne) Goulding. Marge graduated from Garden City High School. She was the Corporate Secretary/Treasurer of General Air Conditioning and Heating Company, Inc., with her husband, Harland C. Legg, for 50 years, serving the Hutchinson and Reno County Areas. Marge was a member of the First Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship, Reno County Extension Office, and was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.

On July 13, 1937, she married Harland C. Legg in Garden City. He died April 10, 1999.

Survivors include: three children, Mike Legg of Topeka, Don Legg of Hutchinson, and Judith Heinly and husband Myron of Little River; a sister, Bette Bartley of Sugarland, Texas; four grandchildren, Shannon Heinly of Derby, Shawn Heinly of Little River, David Heinly of Mansfield, Texas, and Makaela Baker of Wichita; five great-grandchildren, Alexis Heinly, Matthew Heinly, Kevin Heinly, Cody Heinly, and Dusty Heinly; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Don Goulding, and a sister, Helen Jones.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012, at the Evans Chapel at Wesley Towers, with the Rev. Robert B. Brooks presiding. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Entombment will be in Fairlawn Burial Park Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Towers, or First Christian Church, in care of the mortuary.
