Margaret Ann Meadows, 77, died December 11, 2009, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born August 18, 1932, in the Sylvia Township, the daughter of E.C. "Fat" and Henrietta A. DeFrieze Edwards. She graduated from Sylvia High School in 1950 and then the Pratt Nursing Program. A resident of Hutchinson since 1989, she was a retired practical nurse and farmer. Margaret was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Silver Leaf Chapter #464.
On August 18, 1950, she married Myrel A. Meadows in Hutchinson. He survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Linda Meadows of Sylvia, and Tonia Abdul-Kader and husband Fathi of Wichita; three grandchildren, Sammy Abdul-Kader and wife Vickie, Nabil Abdul-Kader, and Deena Shearer and husband Chad; and a great-grandson Lukas Abdul-Kader.
She was preceded in death by a brother Max Edwards.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2009, at the Church of Christ, Sylvia, Kansas, with Royce Mieli officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today until Saturday December 19, 2009, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers memorials, may be made to Hospice of Reno County in care of the mortuary.
