Marguerete L. Blunt, 97, died May 9, 2006 at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Oct. 22, 1908, in Kansas City, the daughter of Asa Lee and Sophronia Eudora Fowler Cook. She graduated from the Academy of Kansas University, Kansas City. A longtime Kansas City resident who had lived in Hutchinson since 1972. She was a homemaker and was a salesperson for Prudential Life Insurance Company, at Kansas City during World War II.
She belonged to Park Place Christian Church, Hutchinson, and was a former member of the Independence Boulevard Christian Church, Kansas City. She was a proud member of Beauknot Sunday School Class at Independence Boulevard, was Past President of the Christian Women's Fellowship at Park Place Christian Church, Past President and Treasurer of the Women's Civic Center, Hutchinson, the Wesley Towers Players and Drama Club at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson.
On March 31, 1928 she married Charles A. Blunt in Kansas City, MO. He died December 28, 1966.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, A.L., Jr., Ralph and Earl Cook.
Inurnment will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2006, in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, MO, with the Rev. Bill Cook presiding. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at Wesley Towers Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Kim Biery and the Rev. Robert B. Brooks presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Christian Soup Kitchen, in care of the funeral home.
