Marguerite Blessing LacKamp, 94, died July 15, 2007, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Feb. 27, 1913, in Roxbury, the daughter of Willard and Edith Lilly Blessing. She graduated from Inman High School in 1931. She was a long time resident of Hutchinson and Inman. She and her husband owned and operated City Market in Inman. She belonged to St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Inman,; Uvedale Chapter of D.A.R, Good Samaritan, Red Hat Society, and she and her husband were both directors of the Sky Ryders Drum and Bugle Corp. from 1965 to 1972. She was an avid collector and enjoyed ceramics, macrame', needle point, and crochet.
On May 7,1939 she married Robert LacKamp, he preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2004.
Survivors include: a son, Dr. Robert J and his wife, Janet Metzinger LacKamp, St. Joseph, MO.; three sisters, Vernabelle Sperling, Dorothy Clark, Hutchinson, and Cleta Friesen, Inman; three grandsons, Mr. Isaac and wife, Laura LacKamp, San Diego, Calif., Drs. Aaron and his wife Paula LacKamp, Kansas City, Mo., Lt. Jonathan LacKamp ; two great grand children, Hannah and Nathaniel LacKamp, Fort Rucker, Ala.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bill Blessing, El Paso, Texas; and a sister, Evelyn Davenport, Inman.
Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Elliot Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Robert L Albin officiating. Burial will be in North Inman Cemetery. Friends and family may call Thursday and Friday 9 am to 9 pm and Saturday 9 am to 3 pm.
