Marguerite R. Voss, 83, died Nov. 8, 2011, at her home in Hutchinson.
She was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Clayton and Helen Hildyard Schlatter.
Marguerite graduated from Reno County High School in class of 1946, and Hutchinson Community College. She was a homemaker and had worked as the librarian at Nickerson City Library for 20 years. Marguerite was a member of the Nickerson United Methodist Church, where she was active with the church and sang in the church choir. She volunteered at the Boy's and Girl's Club of Hutchinson, at the Cosmosphere and at the Hutchinson Community College radio station. While she was in high school, she flew with the Civil Air Patrol.
Marguerite married Gail E. Voss on Feb. 17, 1946, at Nickerson. He died Sept. 10, 1999.
Survivors include: two sons, David A. Voss and wife, Melissa of The Woodlands, Texas and James E. Voss and wife Debby of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Wildmead Cemetery at Nickerson. A register book can be signed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday and the family will greet friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday all at Elliott Mortuary. The casket will remain closed.
