Marie B. Crisman, 89, died Jan. 1, 2009 at Elm Grove Estates, Hutchinson.
She was born June 13, 1919 in Deshler, Neb., to William and Ida Louise Vorderstrasse Othling. Marie was baptized June 29, 1919 and confirmed June 3, 1933, both at Peace Lutheran Church in Deshler. She was a 1938 graduate of Deshler High School. After graduation she moved to Wisconsin where she worked for Fairbanks Morris as a blue print machine operator for 30 years.
On July 20, 1945, she married Harold Joseph Crisman in Chicago. He died June 30, 1981. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She was active in her church and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
Survivors include: son, Joseph G.W. Crisman and his wife Karen, Orlando, Fla.; daughter, Lorraine J. Holmes and her husband Kenneth E., Hutchinson; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Deloris Othling, North Platte, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 17 at Elliott Chapel with Pastor Tim Carey officiating. Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the book 9 am. to 9 p.m. today through Jan. 16 at Elliott Mortuary. Private family inurnment will be in Nebraska at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas in care of the mortuary.
