Marietta B. Goering, 85, died March 16, 2014, at Thorne Care Center, Wesley Towers. She was born Dec. 5, 1928, in Osborne, Kansas, the daughter of Lyle C. and Ruth A. (Galley) Noffsinger. She graduated from Osborne High School and then Adela Hale Business College. Marietta retired as the manager for Carey Salt Employees Credit Union. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and former UMW President.

On Feb. 7, 1948, she married Ralph R. Goering in Hutchinson. He died Jan. 23, 2013.

Survivors include: children, Cheryl May and husband Randy of Plano, Texas, Mark Goering and wife Raedean of Joplin, Mo., and Lora Hardacre and husband Charles Harmony of Hutchinson; siblings, Marjorie Jackson of Hutchinson, Dorothy Detwiler of Kinsington, Kan., Wayne Noffsinger and Lyla Legg both of Osborne, Kan., and Clifford Noffsinger of Clay Center, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Clyde Noffsinger.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Dr. Kim Biery presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Towers, or the Alzheimer's Association, both in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson KS 67501.
