Obituary

Marilyn Ann Brown, 82, died August 12, 2026, at Reflection Living Bloom House, Hutchinson. She was born April 3, 1944, in Bennington, to Claude D. and Dorothy Velma (Moody) Markley.

Marilyn graduated from Bennington High School. She worked as a computer analyst for over 20 years at Sharp Community Hospital, Chula Vista, CA. Marilyn enjoyed researching her family’s genealogy, and decorating cakes for many family and friends. She also competed alongside her husband, Clinton, on many bowling leagues throughout the years. Marilyn cherished her relationships with others and was always happy to be in the company of others.

On November 24, 1962, she married Clinton Dean Brown, in Salina. They shared over 63 years of marriage, prior to his death on June 10, 2026.

Marilyn is survived by: her sons, Mark Brown of Chula Vista, CA, and James Brown of Hutchinson; brother, Dean (Wendy) Markley of Copperopolis, CA; and sister-in-law, Candy Markley of Denver, CO; two nieces and five nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; siblings, Richard Markley, Tom Markley and Claudine Markley.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2026, in the Bennington Cemetery, 716 N. Nelson, Bennington. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Kansas Honor Flight, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
