Marilyn J. Cleveland, 80, died Sept. 24, 2015, at Wellington Health and Rehab. She was born Dec. 16, 1934, in Great Bend, to Elton and Dorthea (Gregg) Nickel.
Marilyn graduated from Great Bend High School in 1952, and was a manager for Southwestern Bell and AT&T. Marilyn was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Telephone Pioneers, Women's Auxiliary of the Hutchinson News and Women of the Moose Hutchinson Chapter #1371.
On Sept. 30, 1956, she married Don Cleveland in Great Bend. He survives. Other survivors include: daughter, Brenda Wandling and husband Todd of Sugar Land, Texas; son, Curtis Cleveland of Hutchinson; half-sister, Janet Welsch of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marlene Nelson.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Andy Addis officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at Elliott Chapel.
