Marilyn Ruth Farney, 75, died January 9, 2014, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born January 31, 1938, on the Plevna farm, the daughter of Alvin and Lola Emma (Haas) Farney. She was raised in the Sterling Evangelical Mennonite Church.
Survivors include: sister, Alvina M. (Farney) Rayl of Hutchinson; brother, Carl S. Farney of Las Vegas, Nevada; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Rosetta Redenbaugh and Gertrude Farney.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Sterling Evangelical Bible Church Cemetery, Sterling. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Mennonite Friendship Communities Chapel, South Hutchinson, with Pastor Lou Gomez presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
