Obituary

Marion G.L. "Ace" Cunningham, 84, died May 19, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.

He was born April 2, 1922, in Hartner, the son of Charles and Dora Shaw Sallee. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, he was a mechanic at Cessna, retiring in 1984.

He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Bob Campbell Post No. 1361 and was a 50-year member of the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124 AF and AM and the Silver Leaf Chapter No. 464, Order of the Eastern Star. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II serving as a medic in Germany.

On Jan. 18, 1946, he married Julia A. Peterson in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Gerald Ray "Jerry," Frederick, Colo.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Kay Haynes; and a brother, Rawland Cunningham.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Masonic graveside rites. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association or the Hutchinson Area Cancer Support Services, both in care of the funeral home.
