Marion Leland "Shorty" Mock, 80, a loving husband and father, died Aug. 20, 2008, at Hutchinson Hospital ICU. He was born Jan. 4, 1928, in Doniphan, Mo., to Ivor Leland and Jannie Stubblefield Mock.
He was a resident of Hutchinson. He attended Cross Roads, Mo. schools. He was a graduate of Iola High School, Iola. He retired as tester at Cessna Hydraulics in 1990. He managed Phillips 66. He was of the Baptist faith. He served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68.
On June 10, 1950, he married Geraldine Ann English in Iola. They celebrated their 58th anniversary this summer. She survives.
Other survivors include: sons, Leland E., South Hutchinson, Mark W., Hutchinson; daughters, Joyce Mock, Hutchinson, Connie J. Clizer, Springdale, Ark.; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with the Pastor Harold Nelson presiding. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Elmer. Friends may call Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Memorials may be sent to American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68 or the Patriot Guard, in care of the mortuary.
