Obituary

Marjorie J. (Welch) Beery, 87, passed away at her home in Rogers, Ark., with her loving family by her side. She was born June 16, 1927, in Great Bend, Kan., to George and Margaret (Brewington) Welch. Marjorie graduated in 1945, from Hutchinson High School. She retired after 10 years at Doskocil, holding several different positions. Her last position was a manager for the snack bar department.

She married Leonard F. Beery on June 15, 1946, in Newton. He passed away on May 26, 1988.

Marjorie was a loving wife and mother and is survived by: her children, Paul ( Cassia) Beery, Brazil, Jeanette (Mark) Curry, Rogers, Ark; granddaughter, Hannah Curry, Rogers, Ark.; step-granddaughter, Debora Iwao, Brazil; step-grandson, Luis Petrini, Brazil; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. followed by a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, all at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014, in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Father Nicholas Voelker officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Homecare of Reno County, or Circle of Life Hospice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
