Obituary

Marjorie A. Gilbert, 97, died March 11, 2010, at Dillon Living Center, Hutchinson.

She was born Oct. 28, 1912, in Sawyer, to Lyman Elman and Clara Ball Mohney.

A resident of Hutchinson since 1934, she was a homemaker, seamstress, and church hostess. She was a Past Matron of Silver Leaf Chapter #464 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.

On July 19, 1934, she married Clyde David Gilbert in Sawyer. He died May 9, 2005.

Survivors include: three daughters, Loretta Shultz and husband Wallace, Canyon Lake, Texas, Martha Harsch and husband Steve, Tucson, Ariz., and Dorothy Buhrle and husband Dean, Bonner Springs; brother, Leonard Mohney and wife Betty, Wichita; sister-in-law, Opal Marie Moore, San Diego, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Olney Mohney; and two sisters Ruth Humble and Louise Farmer.

Funeral will be 10 a.m., Monday, March 15, 2010, at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Conard presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday with the family to receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gable Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, in care of the mortuary.
