Marjorie I. 'Jean' Esau, 92, of Hutchinson, died April 26, 2023, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. She was born February 6, 1931, in Seminole, OK, to William T. and Anna Bell (Reddington) Mills.

Jean enjoyed spending her time: sewing, gardening, crocheting, and studying her Bible.

On October 20, 1962, she married Darlow D. Esau, in Hutchinson. They shared over 51 years of marriage before his death on July 7, 2014.

Jean is survived by: daughter, Lisa (Bob) Shuff, Hutchinson; granddaughter, Rhylie (Jacob) Moore, Newton; and grandson, Jared Shuff, Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; and six sisters, Florence, Gladys, Edna, Dorothy, Mildred, and Ida Mae.

Cremation has taken place. A private burial will occur at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Tipton Children's Home, Tipton, OK, or Oklahoma Christian University, Edmond, OK, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
