Marjorie Eileen Snell, 90, died Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Jan. 12, 1921, in Dodge City, the daughter of Gordon Ray and Bessie Bethel Peirce Vance.
Marjorie graduated from Dodge City High School in 1938 and Dodge City Business College in 1939, was a member of Johnson United Methodist Church and affiliated member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She had been a longtime Johnson community resident moving to Hutchinson in 1999, was a homemaker and farm wife.
On Aug. 2, 1941, she married Wayne Snell in Dodge City. He survives.
She is also survived by their children and spouses; David and Virginia, Johnson, Carol and Fred Huntsman, Marysville, Robert and Linda, Brownwood, Texas; two sisters, Joanne and Kennith Leasure, Hutchinson, Berna Dene and Bob Spriggs, Wichita; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Cara Lee Howard and a grandson.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1602 N. Main, Hutchinson, with Rev. Jim Rhaesa officiating. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011, in Stanton County Cemetery with Rev. Don Hasty officiating. Calling hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family present 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson.
