LINDSAY, Texas - Marjorie Withroder, 89, of Lindsay, Texas, formerly of Hutchinson, died Feb. 1, 2011, at Denton Presbyterian Hospital, Denton , Texas.

She was born Jan. 28, 1922, in the Sylvia community, the daughter of Harold and Edith Josephson.

On May 18, 1946, she married George E. Withroder at Hutchinson. He died Jan. 14, 1988. Marjorie and George lived and farmed in Wichita County, Kan., for many years before moving back to Sylvia, where they lived and farmed until George's death. In 2001, she moved to Lindsay, Texas, and although she was content with her life in Texas she remained a Kansas girl who missed her friends and family back in Kansas.

She is survived by: her three daughters and spouses, Dana and Dan Young, Lindsay, Texas., Debra and Joe Banks, Chandler, Ariz., and Diane and Dave Scott, Hutchinson; sister, Donna Moran, Calif.; sister-in-law, Yvonne Josephson, Hutchinson; beloved cousin, Jeanette Millspaugh, Hutchinson; dear friend, Lois Kruse, Hutchinson; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren and one due this spring; plus numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Jack and Dean Josephson.

Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Steve Gill officiating. Burial will be in Sylvia Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
