Marlane Iris Woodard Rages, 93, died April 2, 2020, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson.  She was born May 24, 1926, near Elmont, Kansas, to Terrol Herbert and Pansy (Chilson) Woodard.

Marlane graduated from Seaman High School and Washburn University, Topeka.  She taught elementary grade school at Elmont and Topeka, later teaching Language Arts at Geneseo.  After retiring, Marlane assisted her husband in the operation of Rages Crops Insurance, located in Lyons.  She was a member of Geneseo United Methodist Church.

On July 4, 1948, she married Lloyd W. Rages, in Topeka.  He died September 12, 2010, after sharing 62 years of marriage.

Marlane is survived by:  son, Dan Rages (Janice) of Hutchinson; daughter, Becky Berry (Paul) of Omaha, NE; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2020, in Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka.  Friends may sign her book from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.  Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
