HUTCHINSON - Marlene R. Hawkins, 57, of Hutchinson, died April 7, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 6, 1952, at Pratt, Kan., daughter of Fred and Alice Blea Martinez.

Marlene was a former resident of Pratt and Kingman, moving to Hutchinson in 2004. She graduated from Pratt High School, Pratt Community College School of Nursing, and attended Wichita State University. She was a nurse at Kingman Hospital. She belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

On Aug. 6, 1983, she married Galen F. Hawkins in Kingman. He survives. Other survivors: daughters, Alta Hawkins of Hutchinson, and Amanda Martinez of Phoenix; brothers, Bob Flores of Edmond, Okla., and Mike Martinez of Hutchinson; sister Shirley Conn of Wichita; and one grandson, Bronson Nuss. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Judy Chinn.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Fr. Brian Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
