Marlowe James Kennison, 85, died July 24, 2008, at the Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born April 10, 1923, at Regal, Minn., the son of James Edward and Hazel Lila Driessen Kennison.
He was a resident of Hutchinson since 1947. He attended school and graduated from Summitt High School in Summitt, S.D., in the class of 1941.
He was a bartender at Ness' Tavern and later at Danny's Tavern in Hutchinson, and later was manager for Kimbell Liquor Store in Hutchinson. He served in the U.S. Army, and served in Japan after WWII.
Survivors include: nephews, Lynn Kennison, Pierre, S.D., Larry Kennison, Rapid City, S.D., Terry Young and Edward Young, both of Hutchinson; nieces, Linda Caley, Hutchinson, Sandra Devault, Virgina; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and two sisters, including Phyllis D. Young of Hutchinson on March 23, 2006.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, all at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
