Martha A. Davis, 57, died June 9, 2008, in Hutchinson. She was born Aug. 28, 1950, in Alva, Okla., the daughter of Raymond J. and Marjorie Lou Rudy Chambers.
She graduated in 1968 from Hutchinson High School and on May 14, 1999, she graduated from Hutchinson Community College. A resident of Hutchinson since 1960, she was a Health Information Technician for the Hutchinson Ambulatory Surgery Center.
She belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, the ladies Altar Society at Our Lady of Guadalupe, was a former member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, belonged to Perpetual Adoration at St. Teresa, was the treasurer of the Kansas Oklahoma Golden Gloves for the past seven years, and was the former bookkeeper for Golden Gloves Bingo.
On Nov. 27, 1971, she married Gary A. Davis in South Hutchinson. He survives. Other survivors include: a son, Brian and wife Angie, Hutchinson; daughter, Kellie Chastain and husband D.J., Hutchinson; brother, Cecil Chambers and Bonnie, Hutchinson; sister, Kathy Wilson and husband Steve, Hutchinson; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and Marion and Igene Benton, the uncle and aunt who raised her after the death of her parents.
Parish rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday June 11, 2008, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, with Father Brian Nelson presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
