Martin H. Dirksen, 82, of Hutchinson, died November 25, 2022, at Diversicare, Hutchinson.  He was born May 5, 1940, in Hutchinson to Martin Harold and Dorothy Lea (Harrison) Dirksen.

Martin graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1958 and from Union College in 1965.  He was an educator and worked for Walgreens.  Martin was an avid hiker, enjoyed photography and created as well as collected art. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

On July 22, 1966, Martin married Kathleen Mavis Poore, in Spearfish, SD.  They shared 56 years together.

Martin is survived by: wife, Mavis; son, Marty; daughter, Tammy Villegas; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Carol Dirksen (Regis Yager).

Memorial service will be Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1302 N. Severance, Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Jiwan Moon officiating.   In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the church.
