Marvel Darlene Mingle, 78, died Dec. 31, 2005, at Susan B. Allen Hospital, El Dorado.

She was born April 4, 1927, in North English, Iowa, the daughter of Homer and Nellie Turner Thomas. She graduated from Anthony High School in 1945. A longtime Hutchinson resident, moving to El Dorado in 2000, she was a homemaker.

She belonged to Walnut and Campbell Church of Christ, Hutchinson.

On March 14, 1946, she married William H. "Bill" Mingle in Anthony. He died May 1, 1987.

Survivors include: a daughter, Diane Goertz and husband, Larry, El Dorado; a grandson, Matthew Goertz; a granddaughter, Robin Donnelley; and six great-grandchildren, Dorian, Alijah, Dakota, Austin, Jayden and Haylie.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Mingle; four brothers, Melvin, Kenneth, Keith and Ray Thomas; three sisters, Irene Hibbs, Mabel Adams and Treva Miller; and a great-grandson, Brayden Goertz.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, with Bob Phipps presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.

Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association or Walnut and Campbell Church of Christ, both in care of the funeral home.
