Marvin Leon Nelson, 71, died November 19, 2022, at his home. He was born March 26, 1951, in Ulysses, to John Henry and Fern Marie (Souder) Nelson.

For over 30 years, Marvin was the superintendent for Reno County Public Works.  He also owned his own mechanic business, "Nelson's Automotive".  Marvin enjoyed rebuilding and restoring antique vehicles, and fishing.

On April 7, 1989, he married Cheryl Ann Hoskinson, in Hutchinson.

Marvin is survived by:  his wife of over 33 years, Cheryl; children, John W. Nelson, Donna Ranzau (Darell), Sherry Medrano, and Boe Nelson (Jessica); bonus children, Diane Favinger and Dan Smith (Kyndal); brothers, Johnny R. Nelson (Pam) and Harold D. Nelson; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents; three brothers, Donald Guy, Morris Guy, and Larry Guy; and one sister, Mary Guy.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2022, at Elliott Chapel.  Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.  Cremation has taken place.
