Obituary

Marvin Dean "Tuffy" Christenson, 75, died Sunday, April 25, 2010, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita.

He was born September 18, 1934, in Grant, Nebraska, to Eugene and Geraldine Nichols Christenson.

He had lived in Hutchinson since 1956. He had worked in the Refuse and Street Department for the City of Hutchinson, the Reno County yards and then was a truck driver for Winsor Mail Contractor, delivering mail throughout Kansas.

On March 5, 1966, he married Judi A. Bolten in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Ka Lai and husband Brent Woods, Kansas City, Missouri; a stepson, Karl Reussner, Orlando, Florida; a stepdaughter, Honna Flores , Virginia; five sisters, Betty Fulton, June Leffel, Charlotte Snover, Butchie Amdon and Shirley Christenson, four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Christopher, Billy and Tom; sister, Donna Nicwanger.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2010, at Elliott Chapel, with the Rev. Phil Fischer officiating. Friends may sign his book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to service time on Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter in care of the mortuary.
