Mary Elizabeth Bruegger, 87, died Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Olathe.
She was born Feb. 28, 1924, at Whiting, Ind., the daughter of Lester and Viola Beck Chansler.
A longtime Hutchinson resident moving to the Kansas City area in 2010, she had worked for Beech Aircraft and was quality controller operator for Consolidated Rebuilders retiring in 1986. Mary was a lifetime member of Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 420, Holyrood, and her initiation was June 25, 1946. Her hobbies included: quilting, knitting, crafts, reading and playing bridge.
On Sept. 10, 1951, she married Virgil W. Bruegger at Colorado Springs. He survives.
Other survivors and their spouses include: a daughter, Virginia Anderson of Kansas City; three sons, Randy and Carol of Olathe, Steven and Lee of Overland Park, and Paul and Brigette of Seattle, Wash; a brother, Paul and Sharon Chansler of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Wes Anderson, and a sister, Bernice Bundy.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011, at Elliott Chapel, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, with Pastor Kenny Graham officiating. Order of Eastern Star service will be conducted by Silver Leaf Chapter #464 in Hutchinson. Burial will be in Bushton Cemetery at 3 p.m. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory.
