Mary Alice Hobbs Ditgen, 94, died July 31, 2017, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born August 20, 1922, in rural Reno County, the daughter of James Glenn and Bernice Ely (Phillips) Wilson.

She graduated from Reno County High School, Nickerson, in 1940. Mary Alice lived most of her life in Nickerson and worked for many years at D.J. Fair Lumber Company, Nickerson, that later became Home Lumber Company.  Mary Alice was a talented musician and church organist for many years. She belonged to the Nickerson United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star in Nickerson and Hutchinson, and DAR.

On May 2, 1942, she married Dale C. Hobbs. He died in 1992. Then, on May 24, 1997, she married Clarence 'Jud' Ditgen. He died in 2008.
She is survived by: daughter, Susan Griffith and husband John of Hutchinson; two sons, Carl Hobbs and wife Mary of South Hutchinson and Brian Hobbs of Plano, Texas; sister-in-law, Wilma Wilson; six grandchildren, Teresa Griffith of Liberty, MO, Troy Griffith of Great Bend, Paula Fisher of Towanda, Cindy Adams of Kingwood, Texas, Jeff Hobbs of Wylie, Texas, and Jamie Santellanes of Gloucester Point, VA; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: a daughter-in-law, Susie Hobbs; and brother, R. Bruce Wilson.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2017, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Alan Gager officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
