Mary Beth (Friesen) Simpson, 73, died May 16, 2016, at Brookdale of Hutchinson. She was born Dec. 28, 1942, in Hutchinson, to Charles R. and Opal O. (Matlack) Culver.

Mary Beth graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1960 and Hutchinson Community College in 1963. She worked for 25 years at Hutchinson National Bank in the accounting department. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Mary Beth is survived by: daughters, Sheri Barr of Hutchinson, Susan Sloyer and husband Scott of St. Louis; sister, Beverly White; brother, Robert Culver, both of Hutchinson; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, 101 E. First, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Jeff Slater officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
