It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Jane Hannigan, 85, of Hutchinson, Kansas, on Friday, March 15th, 2024, at the Hospice House in Hutchinson.

Mary was born to Walter and Iva Caldwell on December 28th, 1938. On September 7th, 1956, she became a serviceman's bride when she married Robert D. Hannigan of Elk City, Kansas at the Methodist Church in Independence, Kansas (she remained a Methodist).  They shared 67 years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Hannigan; parents, brothers Carl, Charles, Robert, twin brother Jerry, James; sisters Emma, Elva, Edna, and Pat.

She is survived by her husband, son Robert, Jr. (Robin), twin daughters Janet Bower (David) and Jennifer Tucker (Bill); grandchildren Jon, Jodi, Jennifer, Brooke, Ericah, Aleczandrea, Christal, Kaitlin, David, Darin, Hayes; twelve great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson, Kansas. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm Friday, March 22, 2024, with family present from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.

Graveside service and burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas at 10:30 am, Saturday, March 23, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital or St. Jude's Children's Hospital, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
