Mary Elizabeth Hazen Ward, 93, died Aug. 6, 2013, at Hospice House. She was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Stark, Kan., to Ray and Dicy (Williamson) Inman.

She married Forrest Hazen in 1938. He died in July 1992. She then married Charles Ward Jr. in 1995. He died in June 1998.

Mary was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Chanute, Kan., and was a bank teller for many years at the Bank of Commerce.

She is survived by: daughters, Virginia and husband Dr. Michael Torrence, Hutchinson, Alice Davis and husband Don, Shreveport, La.; grandchildren, Lynne Sangimino and husband Pat, Wichita, Kan., Steven Cathers and wife Sandy, Charlotte, N.C.; great-granddaughter, Kaylin Sangimino; great-grandsons, Nolan and Porter Cathers; and stepdaughters, Kay Ellen Ward, Santa Monica, Calif., JoAnn Cole and husband Mark, Phoenix, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Otterbein United Methodist Church, Chanute, Kan., with Pastor Harry Driscrow presiding. A private family burial will be held in the Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Otterbein United Methodist Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS, 67501.
